March 22, 2021 to March 22, 2021 7.30 pm

Can we find peace of mind and self-control in challenging times?

Marcus Aurelius was a Roman emperor and the most powerful politician of his time. He used his power not to gain riches and more power but to practice self-mastery, simplicity, clarity of mind, and self-control by applying the Stoic philosophy.

In his famous handbook ‘Meditations’, he wrote his reflections – his profound observations about people’s nature and his own.

Today, these reflections offer us advice on leading a serene and meaningful life in the midst of hardship and uncertainty.

We will discuss a few main ideas from Marcus Aurelius Meditations that reflect Stoicism’s essence and teachings. Join us to learn about the Stoics and how to apply their philosophy in our daily life.

“Do not fear the future. You will face it if that is your fate, armed with the same reason that protects and guides you in the present.” ‘Meditations’ by Marcus Aurelius.
