All about the color Blue…

2012, 18:30,
Thursday
Talk
Fee: $5.00
Have you ever felt blue? Colors and emotions go hand in hand in our daily lives. They are so closely associated that we use colors as descriptions for concepts and feelings that go beyond words and language. This was quite true for Picasso as well. Pablo Picasso's "Blue Period" refers to a series of paintings in which the color blue dominates and which he painted between 1901 and 1904. Beginning with several paintings that memorialized the recent suicide of his friend Casagemas, the artist's themes grew sad and dark, and he was devoted to a palette consisting almost completely of shades of blue. The artist Mertim Gokalp and Psychologist Melodi Gokalp will be talking about Picasso, his melancholic mood and the colour blue.
